About The Position

SRC is searching for a well-rounded Space Subject Matter Expert (SME) with a background in Information Warfare (IW) in support of the United States Navy (USN), to advise technical teams and leadership on Space Operations capabilities, operational integration, and best practices while supporting the development of operational concepts, technical documentation, training materials, and analytical products for the Naval Information Warfighting Development Center (NIWDC). Supports development and refinement of operational concepts, doctrine, tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP). Work supporting NIWDC will be conducted at the government's facilities in Norfolk, VA.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience within Fleet/Navy Space Operations (or equivalent experience in other services) mission area
• Minimum of two years of professional experience supporting operational planning, readiness assessments, concept development, doctrine, tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP)
• Bachelor’s degree or four additional years of experience in Space Operations beyond previous requirement
• U.S. Citizenship
• U.S. Government security clearance at the Top Secret / SCI level

Nice To Haves

• Current professional experience performing Space Operations within the last five years
• General knowledge in Meteorology & Oceanography (METOC), Information Operations (IO) & Information-Related Capabilities (IRCs), Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO), Department of Defense Information Network (DODIN) Operations
• Experience developing technical documentation, reports, white papers, briefings, or analytical products.
• Direct space mission experience totaling a minimum of 5 years and spanning at least 2 of the following mission areas: Command & Control (C2), Launch, Missile Warning, Satellite Communications (SATCOM), Space Domain Awareness (SDA), or Space Control
• Prior professional experience as a MOS 1870 – Maritime Space Officer (MSO) or equivalent position in other services (e.g. FA40A – Space Operations Officer (USA), AFSC 13S/1C6 – Space Systems Operations (USAF), MOS 13S/5S0X1 – Space Operations Officer/Space Systems Operator (USSF))
• Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Providing subject matter expertise in Space Operations and related information warfare disciplines
• Driving the development of IW concepts, doctrine, and TTPs and advanced tactics training
• Performing technical analyses to assess mission effectiveness and operational capabilities
• Preparing technical documentation, briefings, analytical reports, and recommendations
• Participating in technical planning sessions, working groups, and collaborative discussions
• Supporting development and evaluation of training programs and operational readiness initiatives
• Analyzing mission requirements and recommends improvements to processes, capabilities, and technical solutions
• Participating independently in conferences, working groups, meetings, war games and other forums, providing mission area-related operational expertise (as defined in experience/qualification requirements section) through proposals, plans, discussion, white papers, meeting notes, and presentations
