About The Position

As an Information Technology Technician II, you’ll help keep RSIC’s technology reliable and secure by supporting day-to-day operations across desktops, servers, applications, networking, and telecommunications. Key responsibilities include installing/configuring computers and approved software; monitoring operating systems and applications to troubleshoot issues; assisting with network servers and VoIP systems; handling help-desk calls and end-user support; coordinating with Managed Services consultants, vendors, and backup processes; recommending and implementing upgrades to protect system integrity; maintaining licensing records and IT supplies specs; completing network/telecom cabling; and assisting with RSIC website updates.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in computer science OR 5+ years’ professional networking/repair/software support experience
  • Working knowledge of CAT 5/5e/6 cabling, termination, and jacks
  • Proficiency in RSIC applications within 1 month (Blackbaud, Accufund, Microsoft Office, VoIP)
  • Programming principles knowledge
  • Strong written/verbal communication
  • Age 21+
  • Eligibility for RSIC vehicle insurance
  • Physical/manual dexterity
  • Completion of a pre-employment criminal background check, drug screen, and confirmation of professional references

Responsibilities

  • Checking overnight alerts, backups, and open tickets
  • Prioritizing tasks to keep teams productive
  • Performing desk-side fixes and focused work in server/network spaces
  • Coordinating timing with Managed Services for updates and changes
  • Responding to phone/VoIP questions and application hiccups
  • Helping staff get comfortable with approved tools through practical coaching
  • Documenting solutions
  • Updating licensing notes
  • Preparing purchase specs for needed supplies
  • Validating that core systems stay connected (email, file access, conferencing, and administrative platforms)
  • Wrapping up follow-ups with vendors
  • Leaving clear notes for issue resolution
