About The Position

If selected for this position you will serve as an Information Technology Specialist in the United States Attorney's Office, Northern District of Mississippi, Oxford Office. You will provide a variety of Information Technology services in the following functional areas: Customer Support, Network Systems, and Information Technology Litigation Support Services.

Requirements

  • You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing.
  • Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation.
  • You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.
  • If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period.
  • Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.
  • You must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement and before placement in the position.
  • Meet or exceed all required competencies at the minimum proficiency level for the GS-12.
  • Have the required specialized experience for the GS-12.

  • Providing IT customer support in troubleshooting, recovering, and/or resolving recurring software/hardware problems.
  • Installing and/or configuring new or modified hardware and operating systems and software.
  • Monitoring network capacity and performance.
  • Assisting with developing, planning, and/or coordinating litigation support services.
  • Providing user training and/or assistance on a variety of programs and applications.

Responsibilities

  • Configuring, installing, and maintaining network systems.
  • Installing, configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining customer hardware and software.
  • Providing customer support services, training, and assistance on a variety of routine applications in response to user requirements.
  • Providing technical support for litigation-related systems, applications, databases, and electronic records used in support of legal proceedings.
  • Performing essential Litigation Support tasks associated with day-to-day operations of utilizing specialty litigation support hardware and software network capability systems.
  • Aiding litigation teams on legal automation requirements and systems capabilities to facilitate litigation decisions, case preparation, and trial presentation.
  • Implementing programs to ensure users understand and adhere to government standards of systems security policies, procedures, and promote awareness of security issues among management and employees.
