The salary range above represents the earning potential for this position. The anticipated hiring range for this position will be $89,721.00 - $117,928.84, based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience. Montgomery County Public Libraries is seeking a highly motivated IT Specialist III , Grade 26. This role is a key professional responsible for information technology management of MCPL systems with a focus on endpoint management, server maintenance, hardware and software administration, vendor and ticket management. THIS RECRUITMENT WILL GENERATE A 6-MONTH ELIGIBLE LIST TO FILL CURRENT AND FUTURE VACANCIES FOR THE PART-TIME IT TECHNICIAN III SUBSTITUTE AT ALL LOCATIONS WITHIN MCPL. Successful Candidates: Provide full performance professional level information technology work within Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL). Serves as a primary technical resource for endpoint management, hardware and software administration, server maintenance, and Active Directory management across all library locations. Provides hands-on technical support and exercises independent judgment in resolving complex system issues. Contacts include library IT technicians, branch and administrative staff at all levels, vendors, and Montgomery County Government technology staff to exchange information, offer technical guidance, and resolve problems. Ability to perform with considerable independence, technical soundness, adherence to policy, and alignment with library and County standards. Ability to use good judgment and resourcefulness, adapt procedures as needed, and recommend improvements to methods, tools, and policies governing IT operations.
