About The Position

The purpose of this classification is to perform technical work to support the City's software, applications, development, and Microsoft 365 environment (including SharePoint, Teams, Power Platform, and OneDrive) and continuously monitor systems to identify and resolve potential issues. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or an Associate’s degree and two years of experience in technical support, software, application development, web development, or software design, or a High School Diploma or equivalent with four years of experience in technical support, software, application development, or software design.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and management of enterprise software solutions (e.g.,Microsoft 365, SharePoint and intranet portals, ERP systems, ticketing systems).
  • Track and manage storage limits for Exchange Online mailboxes, OneDrive, and SharePoint sites.
  • Manage on-premise file storage quotas.
  • Evaluate existing enterprise software solutions (e.g., Microsoft 365, SharePoint sites, Teams channels, PowerApps, Power Automate, ERP systems, applications, workflows) to identify areas for optimization or expansion.
  • Propose enhancements, new features, or integrations across core enterprise software to improve efficiency, functionality, and user satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, testers, end-users) to ensure alignment with best practices, technical constraints, and organizational standards.
  • Develop test plans and test cases for new or modified functionalities across various enterprise platforms and applications.
  • Document test results, track defects, and work with development or administration teams to resolve issues.
  • Create and configure database instances, ensuring that they meet system requirements and organizational standards.
  • Assist with software deployments, updates, and patches in collaboration with the IT operations team.
  • Provide end-user training, create user guides, and offer ongoing support for city software.
  • Support the cybersecurity team in setting up new accounts and system access, as well as monitoring and routinely auditing account roles and access.
  • Deploy and manage backup solutions for Microsoft 365 data, including SharePoint, OneDrive, and Exchange, as well as disaster recovery strategies.
  • Work on-call as scheduled; troubleshoots problems off shift.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, requested and required.
