About The Position

The Boeing Company is seeking an Information Technology Senior Manager to join the Boeing Defense, Space and Security Product Lifecycle Management team. This role involves leading a large development team to provide value to Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) and Boeing Global Services (BGS) programs by developing and deploying a service-ready solution for Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). The Integrated Product Data Management (IPDM) application, a combined effort of BDS Engineering, BGS, IT Product Systems, and Siemens, is designed to support BDS common processes with one common image, enabling a "design, build, and support anywhere" philosophy and reducing IT cost and infrastructure.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience within information technology
  • 10+ years of experience working in a cross functional environment with all levels in the business from individual contributors to executive leadership
  • 5+ years of experience in program management
  • 5+ years of experience working within an Agile development team
  • 5+ years of experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
  • 3+ years of experience in a managerial role

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 5+ years of experience in the Digital Transformation Environment (DTE)
  • Experience with Siemens Systems (Teamcenter, NX, etc)
  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) using appropriate code versioning and build/test automation tools

Responsibilities

  • Leads a large development team that includes direct employees, contractors and purchase services
  • Provides direction and coordination of developers utilizing the latest development processes for configuration, data mapping and workflow development on a large Integrated Product Data Management application
  • Understands software design across several programing languages
  • Manages and integrates employee and first-level manager activities across Information Technologies including infrastructure design and administration, application analysis and design, information management, architecture, computing security, computing project support and/or process analysis
  • Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives
  • Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
  • Manages and provides developmental opportunities for employees and first-level managers
