Our Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics and Global Services supporting Caterpillar dealers and customers. Our teams work together in critical areas that leverage digital capabilities, technology and operational excellence. As an Information Technology Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of employees, and partnering with business partners, to develop, deploy, and maintain system solutions and technology. Additional Information: This role is located in Morton IL and does not offer relocation. This role is 1st shift, Monday – Friday. This role is 100% on-site with no opportunity for hybrid or remote schedules This role requires up to 15% domestic and international travel

Requirements

  • Leadership: Knowledge of leadership practices and processes; ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing and achieving objectives while having a long-term perspective of the future state of things and how to get there.
  • Vendor/Supplier Management: Knowledge of external provider management processes and ability to effectively manage the business relationship with external providers (e.g. vendors, service providers, contractors, consultants and suppliers).
  • IT Service Management (ITSM): Knowledge of Information Technology (IT) service; ability to manage IT services and oversee service operations.

  • Knowledge of the critical competencies required to achieve intended results; ability to generate consistent approaches for hiring, selection, retaining and leveraging talent across the organization.
  • Project Management Knowledge (PMP) and/or Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP) Certification
  • Prior experience with Logistics
  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field and/or equivalent experience
  • Prior supervisory and/or managerial experience

Responsibilities

  • Manage business relationships with Integrated Logistics Operations (ILO) and Trade Operations business partners, serving as the primary IT liaison.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team by overseeing day‑to‑day activities, prioritizing work, and ensuring clarity of business requirements.
  • Meet regularly with business partners to review, evaluate, and prioritize enhancement and project requests.
  • Collaborate with business partners and IT leaders to deliver ILO and trade initiatives.
  • Own and manage the full project and enhancement portfolios supporting Integrated Logistics Operations (ILO) and Trade Operations.
  • Oversee multiple application development, programming, and analysis projects, including design, development, installation, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Partner with global teams to deliver on project commitments across regions.
  • Develop, manage, and track budgets for logistics and trade application portfolios.
  • Work with application support teams to ensure robust, scalable support processes are in place.
  • Drive application lifecycle management, ensuring systems are upgraded and remain current where feasible.
  • Manage relationships with third‑party vendors and IT professional services providers.
  • Ensure application solutions meet defined business needs, functional specifications, and quality standards.
  • Monitor compliance with established quality, governance, and delivery standards on an ongoing basis.
  • Maximize team effectiveness through professional development, performance management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
