About The Position

Provide analysis, design, and troubleshooting of servers, tools, and desktops with the IT Administrator. Maintain and install infrastructure hardware and software. Oversee troubleshooting and resolution of LAN/WAN connectivity and performance issues with the Network Administrator. Monitor infrastructure stability and performance. Oversee performance of day-to-day administration of credit union’s IT environment and timely completion of all related projects. Work with the Information Security Officer to ensure all data is secure, functional and recoverable. Manage internal staff ensuring that all networks, systems, and devices are well maintained and secure. Oversee and maintain relationships with outside service and equipment vendors for installations, upgrades and problem resolution. Evaluate and/or recommend purchases. Participate in and provide input to IT budget preparation. Manage staff to maintain proper coverage and ensure staff is cross trained and maintains all required certifications. Ensure smooth working relationships between IT and all internal areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in technical field and minimum of 4 years of computer networking/systems integration experience.
  • Experience in organization(s) with more than 2 sites and more than 50 users.
  • Minimum of 1 year of management experience or 5 years in a lead position.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to identify tasks that may benefit from automation and build plans to accomplish.
  • Managed and maintained VMWare server environment.
  • Experience in utilizing standard methods of servers and workstation rollouts/deployment.
  • Direct end user support as needed.
  • Excellent collaborative skills and ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships is essential.
  • Experience maintaining internal relationships and overseeing effective problem resolution.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the mission and vision of the Credit Union. Strictly adhere to the Credit Union’s policy of confidentiality, security, professional conduct and dress.
  • Develop and enhance knowledge of CU core data processing application.
  • Excellent understanding of IT networking and software technologies and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and ensure on-going training of IT support staff administrators and technicians.
  • Conduct performance reviews, recommend salary adjustments, and counsel staff toward optimum performance.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair systems, devices, and networks ensuring maximum uptime and security at all times.
  • Coordinate with other departments to provide systems analysis and support as needed.
  • Ensure that systems are in place to maintain and easily retrieve historical knowledge to technical problem resolution, including job aids for all critical IT functions and components.
  • Supervise, coordinate, and distribute help desk requirements, requests, and report activities to management and owners.
  • Evaluate and recommend technology solutions when appropriate.
  • Work with the Vice President to develop and enforce technology standards using technical, administrative and physical controls.
  • Work with the Information Security Officer to maintain, recommend, monitor, test, implement and develop systems to improve security, fault tolerance, and data recovery.
  • Report to management on status of network operations, end user support, project status, etc.
  • Provide 7x24 on call support when required. Work off hours on systems to ensure operability during production hours.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and design implementation/project plans for IT installations and upgrades.
  • Maintain system inventory.
  • Manage core credit union system ensuring uptime, integrated application operability, system reliability, and data center personnel oversight.
  • Stand in for the VP, Information Technology in their absence or as needed to provide continuous support and problem resolution for all IT functions.
