About The Position

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Mid-Level Information Technology Program Manager for the Tenants Contract, supporting the Air Force Division at the Air Force Research Laboratory Munitions Directorate’s Integration and Operations Division (AFRL/RWOC) at Eglin AFB, FL. This role requires a strong understanding of core IT principles, IT project management, and knowledge of AF instructions and operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for advising, assisting, and directing support for project acquisition activities, managing various documents and deliverables, and supporting IM/IT-related initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 3-10 years’ relevant experience
  • Active Secret Clearance (US Citizenship required)
  • Strong understanding of core IT principles, including network infrastructure, systems administration, cybersecurity fundamentals, and cloud computing concepts.
  • Understand the principles of IT project management, including planning, execution, and closure.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel and Microsoft SharePoint, expert attention-to-detail & highly organized.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of AF instructions and operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize and analyze problems, conduct research, summarize results, and make appropriate recommendations; must have excellent attention to detail and be able to track and coordinate multiple programmatic and technical activities simultaneously and effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience within the Department of War or U.S. Air Force environments is a significant benefit. This indicates familiarity with relevant security protocols, operational procedures, and organizational culture.
  • Experience with Agile or other project management methodologies is a significant asset.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize workload and projects for both the Development and Operations team related to all AFRL lab networks.
  • Advise, assist and direct support to project acquisition activities.
  • Advise and assist Portfolio Managers and Project Engineers with acquisition activities before, during and at contract close-out. Responsible for coordinating and submitting documents across teams within RW as well as coordinating and communicating effectively with outside organizations, both Government and industry. Activities include, but are not limited to, scanning, faxing, electronic file creation/data transfers/formatting/filing, creating/completing checklists, verifying receipt of all deliverables, management/disposition of Government Furnished Property/Information (GFP/I), tracking DD 254s, and communicating with security, contracting, finance, and other teams.
  • Advise and assist in the preparation of analyses and reports as required; interpreting, researching, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments to meet planning schedules, leadership-directed taskers, and associated deadlines.
  • Advise and assist with critical, often time-sensitive support evaluating budgets and assisting with capturing current and future investment pictures as required by AFRL/RW Leadership. Maintain file for tracking invoices, vouchers and their processing status. Identifies issues, determines resolution, and coordinates actions.
  • Advise and Assist with the preparation, coordination, execution, and follow-up of meetings, workshops, and collaboration events; provide assistance with external visitors as required; assist with coordination and integration of schedules and presentation materials for AFRL/RW team members, leadership, and other offices; utilize best practices and tools for proactive planning and scheduling.
  • Advise and assist with the development and maintenance of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, and OneNote files for Project Engineers and Portfolio Managers. Use appropriate tools to track work of self and others to completion. Collect, analyze, and report data which reflects required and desired metrics. Develop templates as needed.
  • Advise and assist with maintaining current knowledge of Security, Cybersecurity, COMSEC, and OPSEC procedures to support the appropriate classification of materials and to follow appropriate procedures/protocols.
  • Advice and assist with a wide variety of downward directed IM/IT-related initiatives such as, but not limited to, the implementation of new versions of the Standard Desktop Configuration, specialized RDT&E enclaves, Defense Research and Engineering Network (DREN) implementation and infrastructure upgrades, follow-on VTC systems (such as telepresence/Voyager Studios), configuration/patching and maintenance of systems and internet kiosk capabilities.
