About The Position

The Information Digital Technology & Security (IDT&S) Product Support organization at The Boeing Company is seeking an Information Technology Manager to lead software development teams supporting Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC) teams in San Diego, CA; Long Beach, CA; or Seal Beach, CA. This position encompasses all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including large-scale agile development, system maintenance, production operations, and airline support. The IPC team provides platforms for data creation and delivery of IPC products to Toolbox Horizon for publishing to airline customers, which are critical for airline mechanics servicing Boeing aircraft. The manager will be responsible for maintaining and developing the IPC suite of applications, with a focus on modernization, support, and compliant software. The ideal candidate is a high-energy, passionate manager with a "People Focused" approach, possessing hands-on experience in defining, de-risking, and executing IT solutions. Experience enabling highly functional Agile teams and deployment via continuous integration and continuous delivery Development Security Operations (DevSecOps) in a compliance-driven landscape with multiple stakeholders is essential. The role involves leading developers located across the United States and India, ensuring a continued focus on the safety of the flying public through domain understanding, product and process knowledge, and meeting customer expectations. Engaging and maintaining positive relationships with BCA Customer Support leaders and transparency are critical success factors. The leader will also work with global teams, actively listening and removing roadblocks to facilitate their work.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.”
  • 3+ years of experience with software development projects, systems projects, and/or requirements analysis

  • 3+ years of experience leading projects and/or individuals in software development lifecycle tasks
  • 3+ years of experience managing or leading a team in a technical discipline
  • Prior experience in technical data creation and delivery processes and tools

  • Understanding of roadmaps for application portfolios
  • Ensure alignment of enduring team capacity & skills
  • Escalations for help needed and risk mitigations
