About The Position

As a summer intern, you’ll get a front-row seat to how we use technology to support millions of customers—and you’ll get to be part of it. As an IT intern, you’ll join one of our internal technology teams and work on real projects that support DIRECTV’s business operations and digital transformation. You’ll gain hands-on experience, learn from experienced mentors, and build skills that will help launch your career. Requirements
- Working toward a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a STEM field (like Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or Data Science)
- Enjoy solving problems and learning new technologies
- Communicate well and work well with others
- Have experience or coursework in programming languages like Java, Python, JavaScript, SQL, C/C++, HTML/CSS, etc.
- Can work effectively in a virtual team environment
- Have solid technical key competencies like Agile development & teamwork, Software design & architecture, Cloud computing & infrastructure, Full-stack development, Data analysis & visualization, Software testing & quality assurance, and Design thinking & innovation
- Must have full U.S. work authorization now and in the future
Nice To Haves
- Familiar with tools like AWS, REST APIs, Oracle, Linux/Unix, Tableau, or Power BI
Responsibilities
- Creating dashboards and automation tools to improve internal systems
- Building and testing parts of websites and internal platforms
- Helping with network upgrades and cloud migrations
- Analyzing data to support business decisions
- Testing new tools and features before they launch
- Improving system monitoring and performance tracking
- Supporting internal process improvements and team collaboration
