About The Position

The IT/IA Specialist I works within Special Access Programs (SAPs) supporting Department of Defense agencies, including HQ Air Force, the Office of the Secretary of Defense, and Military Compartments efforts. The role provides day-to-day support for Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and SAP activities. Duties include administering and maintaining systems and networks, supporting cybersecurity authorization and assessment activities, troubleshooting, and providing user and equipment support. The specialist establishes software configuration controls and system interfaces; maintains file servers, firewalls, network access, security monitoring systems, and documentation; prepares systems for operational use and testing; and reviews and updates authorization packages. The role also supports VTC administration, external information system clients, help desk activities, account management, patching, government-issued laptops, media accountability, and COMSEC account and equipment management.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (4 years).
2–5 years of related experience; prior experience in roles such as System/Network Administrator.
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2, Microsoft Exchange Server 2010/2016, Microsoft Windows 7/10 administration, and associated hardware.
Working knowledge of LAN and WAN technologies and data backup technologies, including COMSEC integration.
Working knowledge of the Risk Management Framework, Common Criteria, and System Security Policy as they relate to Assessments and Authorizations.
Working knowledge and current relevant experience with PL2 systems.
Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
Must hold or meet the position and certification requirements outlined in DoD Directive 8570.01-M for Information Assurance Technician Level I or Information Assurance Manager I within 6 months of hire.
Must have TS/SCI clearance and eligibility for access to Special Access Program Information.
Must be willing to submit to a Counterintelligence polygraph.

Nice To Haves

SAP experience.
DoD 8570.01-M IAM Level I training (in lieu of IAT Level I).

Responsibilities

Establish complex operational software configuration controls and system interfaces for assigned computer systems.
Maintain file servers, firewalls, network access, security monitoring systems, and system documentation as required.
Analyze and troubleshoot system anomalies to ensure optimum equipment performance.
Prepare systems for operational use and support operational tests.
Review, prepare, and update authorization packages.
Notify the customer when changes could affect authorization accreditation.
Conduct the cybersecurity portion of the self-inspection checklist.
Review and provide technical and cybersecurity coordination on all bodies of evidence comprising the authorization package.
Identify vulnerabilities and implement countermeasures.
Ensure information systems and network appliances are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with security policies and practices.
Administer, schedule, and configure video-teleconferencing (VTC) systems.
Provide external information system client support.
Create, change, and delete accounts across multiple authorization boundaries.
Perform help desk and troubleshooting activities.
Configure, upgrade, and modify hardware and software systems.
Perform system and network appliance patching activities.
Provide government-issued laptop support.
Assist with media control and accountability activities.
Perform COMSEC account and equipment management activities.
