About The Position

The Information Technology/Information Assurance (IT/IA) Specialist provides day-to-day support for Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and Special Access Program (SAP) activities. The role supports information systems and networks through configuration, administration, security monitoring, troubleshooting, authorization, and operational testing. The specialist maintains system documentation and infrastructure, prepares and updates authorization packages, coordinates technical and cybersecurity reviews of evidence, identifies vulnerabilities, and implements countermeasures. The position also includes system and network administration, user account support, help desk assistance, video-teleconferencing administration, government-issued laptop support, media accountability, and COMSEC activities. This is an onsite role in Springfield, Ohio, with 40 scheduled hours per week and 10–25% required travel. A TS/SCI clearance is required to start, and the candidate must be able to attain a TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph.

Requirements

At least 2 years of related experience.
U.S. citizenship required.
Must possess an active Top Secret/SCI clearance and be able to attain TS/SCI with CI polygraph.
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2, Microsoft Exchange Server 2010/2016, and Windows 7/10 administration and associated hardware.
Working knowledge of LAN and WAN technologies and data backup technologies, including COMSEC integration.
Working knowledge of the Risk Management Framework, Common Criteria, and System Security Policy as they relate to Assessments and Authorizations.
Working knowledge and current relevant experience with PL2 systems.
Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
Prior performance in roles such as System Administrator or Network Administrator.
Bachelor’s degree in a related area, or an Associate’s degree in a related area plus 2 years of experience, or equivalent experience (4 years).
IAT Level I certification (such as A+ or Network+) or IAM Level I certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

Establish complex operational software configuration controls and system interfaces for assigned computer systems.
Maintain file servers, firewalls, network access, security monitoring systems, and system documentation.
Analyze and troubleshoot system anomalies to ensure optimum equipment performance.
Prepare systems for operational use and support operational tests.
Review, prepare, and update authorization packages.
Notify the customer of changes that might affect authorization accreditation.
Conduct the cybersecurity portion of self-inspection checklists.
Review and provide technical and cybersecurity coordination on bodies of evidence that make up authorization packages.
Identify vulnerabilities and implement countermeasures.
Ensure information systems and network appliances are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with security policies and practices.
Administer, schedule, and configure video-teleconferencing (VTC) systems.
Provide external information system client support.
Create, change, and delete accounts across multiple authorization boundaries.
Perform help desk and troubleshooting activities.
Configure, upgrade, and modify hardware and software systems.
Perform system and network appliance patching.
Provide government-issued laptop support.
Assist with media control and accountability activities.
Perform COMSEC account and equipment management activities.
