Requirements

  • Basic understanding of the organization’s core business processes and operations
  • General awareness of the organization’s goals and objectives
  • Experience in analyzing, eliciting, modeling, verifying, and developing business and technical requirements
  • Ability to write consistent requirements specifications in both technical and user-friendly terms
  • Proficiency with UML, SysML, or other business analysis modeling tools and languages
  • Moderate analytical and statistical skills for addressing systems issues and product evaluation
  • Familiarity with project management principles, including planning, organizing, and resource management
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated and directed
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Understanding of application development and software development life cycle concepts.
  • General technical knowledge, which may include knowledge of systems, servers, databases, networks, telecommunications, hardware, and software.
  • Understanding of the organization's core software applications.

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in an IT-related subject.
  • CCBA/CBAP certification.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project sponsors to define project scope and vision.
  • Identify project stakeholders, establish roles and user classes, and document their characteristics.
  • Gather user requirements through interviews, workshops, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, and scenarios.
  • Work with stakeholders and project teams to prioritize requirements.
  • Evaluate software and hardware products for alignment with business needs.
  • Implement and use PMO-prescribed requirements documentation software.
  • Ensure solutions are compatible with business requirements.
  • Analyze and verify requirements for applicability, consistency, feasibility, and completeness.
  • Write requirements specifications using standard templates.
  • Translate conceptual user requirements into detailed functional requirements.
  • Create process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts for the project team and developers.
  • Conduct peer reviews of business requirements to ensure accurate interpretation.
  • Interpret user requirements, propose feasible options, and communicate them to business stakeholders.
  • Track requirements throughout the project lifecycle, updating as needed.
  • Communicate changes and updates to requirements to project managers, sponsors, and stakeholders verbally and in writing.
