The primary function of this position is to provide “day-to-day” support for Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Program (SAP) activities. This includes establishing complex operational software configuration controls and system interfaces, maintaining file servers, Firewalls, network access, Security Monitoring Systems and system documentation. The role involves analyzing and troubleshooting system anomalies, preparing systems for operational use, supporting operational tests, and reviewing and updating authorization packages. The specialist will notify customers of changes affecting authorization accreditation, conduct cybersecurity self-inspections, and review technical and cyber security coordination for authorization packages. Responsibilities also include identifying vulnerabilities, implementing countermeasures, ensuring information systems and network appliances are operated, maintained, and disposed of securely, and performing Video-Teleconferencing (VTC) System Administration, Scheduling, & Configuration. Additional duties include providing External Information System client support, performing account management, Help Desk and troubleshooting activities, hardware/software system configuration and upgrades, system and network appliance patching, Government-Issued Laptop Support, Media Control & Accountability, and COMSEC account/equipment management.
