The primary function of this position is to provide “day-to-day” support for Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Program (SAP) activities. This includes establishing complex operational software configuration controls and system interfaces, maintaining file servers, Firewalls, network access, Security Monitoring Systems and system documentation. The role involves analyzing and troubleshooting system anomalies, preparing systems for operational use, supporting operational tests, and reviewing and preparing authorization packages. The specialist will notify customers of changes affecting accreditation, conduct cybersecurity self-inspections, and review evidence packages. Responsibilities also include identifying vulnerabilities, implementing countermeasures, ensuring secure operation and disposal of information systems, performing Video-Teleconferencing (VTC) system administration, providing external information system client support, managing user accounts, performing Help Desk and troubleshooting activities, and handling hardware/software system configurations, upgrades, and modifications. Additionally, the role involves system and network appliance patching, providing government-issued laptop support, assisting with media control and accountability, and managing COMSEC accounts/equipment.
