The Information Technology division in the Mercer vicinage is seeking a highly skilled IT professional to join our fast-paced, innovative team. Reporting to the Information Technology Assistant Division Manager (Court Executive 1b), the successful candidate will deliver advanced technical support and customer service to staff, management, and judges, while leading complex technology projects and infrastructure enhancements. The selected candidate must have expertise in supporting Windows 11 in an enterprise environment, Microsoft Office applications (including Office 365), Active Directory, Power Platform, SharePoint, Configuration Manager (MECM), Microsoft Entra, Group Policy, mobile device management platforms, Teams, Zoom, cybersecurity awareness, and a strong understanding of enterprise networking components. The selected candidate will be required to be on-call on a rotating basis to support weekend virtual criminal justice reform proceedings, election day proceedings, and other after-hours tasks as assigned. The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in a field related to computer science, information technology or the area to which the applicant is applying, such as information systems, human-computer interaction, interactive media, software engineering, computer networking, business analytics, data analytics and/or cybersecurity and three years of professional experience in: analyzing, designing, programming, troubleshooting, resolving technical problems, testing, defining business requirements, training and/or installing computer systems applications OR planning, acquiring, installing and implementing telecommunications facilities and services, wide area networks, or local area networks OR generating and maintaining system software OR business analysis which may include defining and gathering business and functional requirements, analyzing and validating data and/or documenting test plans OR business analytics OR data analytics.
  • Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience or experience related to the area to which the applicant is applying on a year for year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits.
  • A bachelor’s degree in any field from an accredited college or university and one year of additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience or experience related to the area to which the applicant is applying may be substituted for the required education.
  • An associate degree from an accredited college or university, in a field related to computer science, information technology or the area to which the applicant is applying, such as information systems, human-computer interaction, interactive media, software engineering, computer networking, business analytics, data analytics and/or cybersecurity and two years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience or experience related to the area to which the applicant is applying may be substituted for the required education.
  • An associate degree in any field from an accredited college or university and three years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience or experience related to the area to which the applicant is applying may be substituted for the required education.
  • A master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a field related to computer science, information technology or the area to which the applicant is applying, such as information systems, human-computer interaction, interactive media, software engineering, computer networking, business analytics, data analytics and/or cybersecurity may be substituted for the required education OR one year of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and supporting technology projects and infrastructure rollouts, including new operating systems and applications.
  • Designing and implementing innovative solutions to improve processes or resolve issues, using Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate.
  • Administering servers, performing migrations and upgrades to optimize network and application performance.
  • Upgrading, administering, and supporting CourtSmart (court recording software) servers.
  • Developing and enforcing security standards and procedures; monitoring device compliance and applying updates, patches, and fixes as needed.
  • Administering group policies to manage security and configuration for all users and computers.
  • Overseeing MECM/SCCM administration and coordinating software and hardware deployments across the vicinage.
  • Designing, administering, and supporting SharePoint sites.
  • Diagnosing and resolving complex software and hardware issues.
  • Evaluating and implementing technology enhancements in courtrooms for evidence presentation, virtual hearings, and ease of use.
  • Providing advanced technical support for Zoom, Teams, video conferencing, and multimedia presentations; collaborating with stakeholders on virtual court event strategies.
  • Developing and delivering technology training for staff and judges, as well as developing and implementing procedures for IT and vicinage staff.
  • Mentoring and guiding team members, offering expert technical advice.
  • Coordinating with vendors and contractors on network wiring and facility changes.
