About The Position

The Information Systems Specialist will serve as the Information Systems Specialist for C&I/Technology integration on the Instructional Technology team at UT High School. UT High School provides programs and services to help high school students, teachers, and families across Texas and the world, striving to fill gaps in the Texas educational landscape and thrive in the service to others. This role is crucial for translating instructional, operational, and administrative needs into technology requirements and improving systems. The position requires fingerprinting and a successful background check. The start date is July 29, 2026.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Knowledge of computer assisted instructional programs and materials normally acquired through a bachelor’s degree (or beyond) in instructional media, instructional design, or a related field.
• Ability to design and implement technology oriented instructional programs and computer assisted instructional programs to deliver exams and courses online.
• Three years' experience in instructional design, instructional technology, multimedia technologies or a related area.
• Experience designing instruction in online environments.
• Working knowledge of computer assisted instructional programs and materials in instructional media, instructional design, or a related field.
• Experience using excel, databases, learning management systems, and online learning applications and software.
• Understanding of common writing and style standards as applied to instruction and assessment.
• Ability and experience organizing and cataloging extensive files.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability and experience planning work and executing promptly according to established timelines.
• Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
• Satisfactory outcomes of fingerprinting and criminal background check required.

Nice To Haves

• Master's or doctoral degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Instructional Technology, or related field.
• More than three years of required experience in instructional design, technology, or a related area.
• Experience working with K-12 education.
• Experience working with educational publishing development and production.
• Extensive experience managing work production tasks and projects.
• Teacher certification.
• Knowledge of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) expectations for courses and exams and state testing policies.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a key liaison between instructional technology, AI support, Learning Specialists, teachers, curriculum staff, and campus administration.
• Translate instructional, operational, and administrative needs into clear technology requirements, AI-supported workflows, and practical system improvements.
• Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical teams to ensure solutions are aligned with instructional goals, campus priorities, and the needs of staff and students.
• Identify areas of need, workflow challenges, and opportunities for improvement within instructional and administrative processes, and recommend innovative technology and AI-supported solutions.
• Support the development of streamlined processes, automations, templates, tools, and resources that improve accuracy, reduce manual workload, enhance consistency, and strengthen support for teaching, learning, and campus operations.
• Support the implementation, testing, and adoption of instructional technology platforms, AI tools, course systems, assessment systems, and digital learning resources.
• Collaborate with teachers, Learning Specialists, curriculum staff, and administrators to ensure tools are user-friendly, instructionally sound, and effectively integrated into daily workflows.
• Help evaluate system functionality, gather user feedback, and recommend adjustments that improve usability and impact.
• Develop clear training materials, user guides, workflow documentation, and staff support resources that bridge the gap between technology systems and instructional practice.
• Provide support and guidance to staff as they adopt new tools and processes.
• Monitor recurring issues, collect feedback from end users, and recommend continuous improvements that enhance efficiency, accessibility, consistency, and the overall experience for teachers, staff, students, and families.
