About The Position

The Napa County Information Technology Services (ITS) is a branch of the County Executive Office that provides technology services and solutions to all County departments, as well as a range of technology services to five special districts within the County. This recruitment is for two (2) full-time vacancies for the classification of Information Systems Specialist, which may be filled at the II or Senior level depending on qualifications, for the Network Operations Team. The NetOps team is a collaborative group focused on securing and maintaining the critical backbone of the organization's infrastructure. We are seeking a proactive, solutions-oriented IT professional with a "security-first" mindset and strong experience in enterprise networking, including routing, switching, virtualization and firewall management. The ideal candidate will take ownership of complex troubleshooting and project management, will thrive in a team-oriented environment that works a hybrid schedule, and will value cross-training and knowledge-sharing that contribute to the overall success and strength of the team.

Requirements

  • Information Systems Specialist II: Two years of programming, systems, and/or Web design and development experience in a governmental or business operation.
  • Senior Information Systems Specialist: Three years of programming and/or systems experience in governmental or business operation.
  • Education: Equivalent to graduation from college with major course work in data processing, computer science, graphic design, or a closely related field, and minor course work in business principles. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
  • A position assigned to this class may require possession of a valid California Driver's License.
  • Any license, certification, or registration required for this position shall be maintained (i.e. active and in good standing) at all times during employment with Napa County.
  • Must maintain such license, certification, or registration to meet the minimum qualifications of this position for continued employment with Napa County.
