About The Position

The Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) at Knight Federal Solutions Inc. will be responsible for safeguarding the organization's information systems by designing, implementing, and maintaining security solutions. This role is crucial in protecting sensitive data and ensuring compliance with security regulations and standards. The ISSE will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify security risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, enhancing the overall security posture of the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in information systems security engineering.
  • Proven track record of implementing security solutions and managing security systems.
  • Experience with risk management frameworks and security compliance standards such as NIST, FISMA, or ISO 27001.
  • Hands-on experience with security tools and technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption protocols.
  • Strong understanding of network architecture and security infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Effective communication skills to articulate security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop and implement security policies and procedures.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and lead security projects.

Nice To Haves

  • A Master's degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement security architectures and solutions to protect information systems.
  • Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify security threats and weaknesses.
  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to integrate security measures into system designs and operations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies to ensure robust defense mechanisms.
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents, providing expertise in incident response and forensic analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant security policies, standards, and regulations, including conducting audits and assessments.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on security best practices and awareness.
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of security documentation, including policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Support the continuous improvement of security processes and controls to enhance the organization's security posture.
