About The Position

Praescient Analytics is seeking an Information Systems Security Engineer – Senior (ISSE Senior) to support a high-profile federal law enforcement agency's Information Security as a Service (ISaaS) program in Huntsville, AL. This role focuses on integrating security configurations into planned solutions, engineering cloud-based architectures, and closing technical security gaps across enterprise portfolios. The ideal candidate will serve as a principal technical advisor, leading contractor teams to design secure system configurations (MFA, centralized logging, vulnerability tracking) and executing the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) to achieve timely system authorizations.

Requirements

  • At least eight (8) years of experience in secure design, analysis, and testing of information security systems.
  • 8+ years of experience applying federal methods and standards to ensure security safeguards are properly documented.
  • 8+ years of experience creating and updating security test plans to detect and mitigate risks.
  • Documented leadership experience supervising teams of IT or security professionals.
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance (Polygraph required post-hire)
  • Must possess at least one of the following active certifications: CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) or CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker).
  • US Citizenship Required

Nice To Haves

  • An active Cloud Security certification.
  • Experience with cloud technologies, enterprise architecture, and emerging technical environments.
  • Familiarity with enterprise tools such as Tenable Nessus, Splunk, IBM Guardium, HP WebInspect, and NMAP.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a principal technical advisor on cybersecurity architecture, integrating technical security configurations into planned solutions.
  • Partner with technical teams to build required security configurations, including Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), centralized logging, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Provide technical input for the development of the System Security Plan (SSP), ensuring data flows align with least privilege principles.
  • Develop technically sound remediation approaches for control gaps identified through self-assessments.
