About The Position

Fibre Federal Credit Union is seeking a Full-Time Information Systems Hardware Specialist to join their team at the Longview, WA office. This role is not remote. The specialist will be responsible for providing support for desktop equipment and peripherals, administering client hardware/software across all service centers and locations, and proactively managing supplies. Key duties include prompt and courteous IT support, monitoring Help Desk calls and tickets, and traveling to various locations as needed. The position involves building, installing, testing, and maintaining hardware, software, and peripherals, as well as documenting tasks and performing preventative maintenance. The specialist will assist staff with software and hardware use, escalate issues to appropriate personnel or vendors, and maintain records for compliance. The role also requires identifying and correcting hardware/software malfunctions, attending department meetings, participating in training, and accurately logging time.

Requirements

  • Skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of high school.
  • Aptitude conducive to training for the position.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness and ability to travel to/from any services center or location, as the position requires.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and gather and analyze information skillfully.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, remain open to others’ ideas, and exhibit willingness to try new things.
  • Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations.
  • Ability to maintain on-going communication with Department Manager concerning activities of the department as well as needs or problems and keep them informed of all pertinent problems, irregularities, new developments, changes, and other important information.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for desktop equipment and peripherals.
  • Administer client hardware/software at all services centers and locations.
  • Proactively replace/order supplies.
  • Provide prompt and courteous IT support to Credit Union staff, and ongoing monitoring of incoming Help Desk calls and tickets.
  • Travel to services centers or other locations, as required, to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the position.
  • Support the building, installation, testing, and maintenance of new and existing desktop hardware, software, peripherals, and programs.
  • Document daily tasks in appropriate tracking system(s).
  • Perform preventative maintenance for desktop hardware, printers, and other equipment, as required.
  • Assist staff with the navigation, use, and configuration of software applications, hardware, and peripherals.
  • Escalate problems and other issues to appropriate staff or vendors, when necessary.
  • Maintain records and archival procedures to adhere to retention and compliance requirements.
  • Identify software and/or hardware malfunctions and implement corrective action(s), as necessary.
  • Attend and contribute in scheduled department meetings, calls, and video conferences.
  • Participate in appropriate training opportunities, when requested and approved by supervisor(s).
  • Accurately log time worked in designated time-tracking system.
  • Other duties as assigned.
