About The Position

This role involves performing on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex desktop and telecommunications problems for end-users. The analyst will install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot hardware and software responsible by the Information Systems Department. This includes managing Telco moves, adds, and changes (MAC) requests, ensuring network and Meditech user setup requests are completed within 48 hours, and maintaining the inventory of IS equipment. The position also requires designing and supporting telecommunications infrastructure, assisting with telecom system installation and troubleshooting, and collaborating with departments on software testing. A key aspect is leading integration testing, liaising with vendors, and building relationships to understand application architectures. The role demands strong technical ability in reporting using Meditech NPR and Microsoft SQL, serving as a knowledge resource for reporting initiatives like Meaningful Use and PQRS, and possessing HL7 knowledge beyond a basic level. The analyst will also diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues, gather customer data to identify system requirements, and respond to help desk requests. Participation in call rotation and performing other assigned duties are also expected.

Requirements

  • College Diploma or University degree in field of computer science and/or, 3 years equivalent work experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of moderate complex desktop problems for end-users, and recommend and implement corrective solutions, including off-site repair for remote users as needed.
  • Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot any equipment and software that is the responsibility of the Information Systems Department.
  • Answer to and perform delegated Telco moves, adds, and changes (MAC) requests as they are submitted.
  • Ensure that physical desktop connections (i.e. RJ-45 Ethernet jacks, RJ-11 telephone modem jacks, connectors between PCs and servers, etc.) are in proper working order.
  • Ensure Network and Meditech user setup requests are completed within 48 regular scheduled hours.
  • Assist in preparing, maintaining, and upholding procedures for logging, reporting, and statistically monitoring desktop operations.
  • Maintain the inventory of IS equipment.
  • Accurately document instances of desktop equipment or component failure, repair, installation, and removal.
  • Design and support telecommunications infrastructure and its associated software, including PBXs, call management systems, voice mail, interactive voice response, and video conferencing systems.
  • Assist with the installation and troubleshooting of telecom systems.
  • Collaborate with departments and practices in the testing of newly-integrated software programs and applications.
  • Lead integration testing phase of software and applications under testing in order to identify and remedy potential problem areas.
  • Liaise with vendors and hospital staff to address issues in program logic and the interoperability of new applications with existing systems software.
  • Build relationships with software vendors to gain an understanding of application architectures and required functionality.
  • Where applicable, investigate and qualify potential areas in which to introduce Web services.
  • Strong technical ability to develop, manage, extract and distribute custom reporting, using tools; Meditech NPR, Microsoft SQL.
  • Serve as a knowledge and reporting resource for various reporting initiatives, including but not limited to Meaningful Use and PQRS.

  • Assist with inspection, testing, and maintenance of telephone lines, circuits, trunks, and associated wiring and cabling.
  • Assist with maintaining Information Systems and related computing environments including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replace defective components when necessary.
  • Gather data pertaining to customer needs, and use the information to identify, predict, interpret, and evaluate system and network requirements.
  • Receives and responds to incoming calls, pages, and/or e-mails regarding network, software, and hardware problems; including help desk monitoring.
