About The Position

Under administrative direction, performs complex professional and advisory functions as Assistant Chief Information Technology Officer for the Property Tax Appeal Board. Coordinates and engages in the analysis, evaluation, and execution of standards, procedures, and techniques necessary to develop and maintain complex management information systems, associated interfaces, and user services.

Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to four years of college with coursework in computer science or directly related fields.
  • Requires three years of professional experience in a related Information Technology field.
  • Requires the ability to pass a background check.
  • Requires possession of a valid driver’s license and ability to travel.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefers 4 years of experience applying Information Technology concepts and principles, the theories and functions of computer systems, and the principles and techniques of Information Technology documentation.
  • Prefers 3 years professional experience writing and presenting technical information to a broad audience.
  • Prefers 2 years technical experience with the following systems and computer languages: Java, Eclipse, Microsoft SQL Server, SQL, T-SQL, IIS, Visual Studio, .NET, HTML, ASP, ASPX, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, C#, Visual Basic, VBA, Acrobat, VoIP, and Microsoft Access.
  • Prefers extensive knowledge of hardware and software, languages, and procedures to provide assigned technical and analytical services.

Responsibilities

  • As principal assistant to the Property Tax Appeal Board (PTAB) Chief Information Technology Officer, plans, implements, and coordinates database administration and applications development.
  • Keeps abreast of new developments in the IT field and maintains a broad knowledge of supported software and hardware.
  • As a designated team leader, provides work leadership, guidance, training, and direction to lower-level professional staff on projects of significant scope.
  • Initiates inquiries and develops a variety of regularly scheduled and ad hoc reports from PTAB’s database by applying knowledge of its structure and fields.
  • Serves as a technical support specialist and PTAB’s Telecommunications Coordinator.
  • Uses Visual Studio software to maintain PTAB’s websites intended for either internal or external users.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
