About The Position

This 6-week intensive internship offers a "front-row seat" to the world of Cybersecurity. You will support the College Information Security Team in daily monitoring and administrative tasks. This role is designed for students looking to bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world security operations. You will receive introductory training and supervised access to CrowdStrike, ServiceNow, Splunk, and Google Workspace for security management.

Requirements

  • Current Student in Information/Cyber Security or similar program in school.
  • No prior internship experience required.

  • Reliability: Ability to commit to the full 6-week program and maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive college data.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the team in reviewing daily security alerts in CrowdStrike to identify and flag potential threats.
  • Learn the lifecycle of a security incident by managing and updating tasks within ServiceNow.
  • Run pre-built Splunk reports to help the team visualize login activity and system health.
  • Support the "Clean-Up" of Google Workspace accounts to ensure only authorized users have access to sensitive campus data.
  • Help draft a weekly "Security Tip" email or flyer for the student body based on current trends you see in the logs.
  • Assist the team in reviewing current college security policies to ensure they align with NIST 800-171 standards (specifically regarding Controlled Unclassified Information).
