Requirements

Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information systems, or a related major, and sophomore standing or above
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred
Excellent attention to detail
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to work in NFA's Chicago office full-time (beginning June 2027)
Basic understanding of information security and cybersecurity concepts
Familiarity with SIEM tools, cloud security, DLP, SASE, and security policies
General knowledge of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and common security best practices
Strong interest in learning about security monitoring, risk, and incident response

Responsibilities

Contribute to the Information Security team by monitoring, identifying, and investigating potential security threats and vulnerabilities
Assisting with the creation of automation for repetitive security tasks through coding and the use of AI tools
Gain hands-on exposure to security tools and technologies, including vulnerability management, endpoint security, identity and access management.
Support vulnerability assessments and remediation efforts by helping identify, document, track, and validate security findings
Research emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and security best practices and share relevant findings with the team.
