About The Position

This is a Full-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt position with Pay Grade E, based in SEICAA’s Service Area (Pocatello, Idaho). The Information & Referral Specialist will act as the point of contact for SEICAA’s Bannock County office, sharing information about SEICAA programs, services, and other community resources. The role involves assessing visitor needs and eligibility for programs, assisting with special programs, and referring participants to government-funded programs, community resources, educational opportunities, and employment services. Maintaining professional contact and relationships with staff, participants, and partners, along with data entry and recordkeeping, are key responsibilities. The position requires the ability to perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with diverse and vulnerable populations
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Computer skills; Familiarity with typical office technologies
  • Clerical skills including filing, archiving, recordkeeping, records retention, data entry, and compliance
  • Effective oral and written communication skills; the ability to communicate clearly
  • Organized, attention to detail, and punctual
  • Self-directed; Can work independently and in a team
  • Can establish working relationships with Agency employees, the public, and partners
  • Follows instructions; Follows policies and procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects with effective time management skills
  • Ability to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodations without endangering self or others
  • Bondable, insurable under SEICAA’s insurance policy, and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Able to attend meetings or training opportunities to enhance expertise and performance as scheduled
  • Willing to travel on Agency business at Agency reimbursement rates
  • Able to occasionally lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Must successfully pass mandatory pre-employment drug and background screening

Responsibilities

  • Act as the point of contact for SEICAA’s Bannock County office
  • Share information regarding SEICAA programs and services and other community resources
  • Assess visitors’ needs and eligibility for SEICAA programs and services
  • Assist with special programs offered by SEICAA or its partners
  • Refer participants to government-funded programs (LIHEAP, CSBG, etc.), community resources, educational opportunities, and employment services
  • Professionally maintain contact and relationships with staff, participants, partners, etc.
  • Data entry and recordkeeping
  • Perform other duties as assigned
