This role serves as a senior Information Operations (IO) planner and subject matter expert, supporting IO planning, synchronization, and execution. The position involves conducting research, analysis, and planning to integrate Information Forces (IF) and effects into plans and operations. The SME will coordinate with interagency and intelligence communities, integrate various command elements including lower echelon units, service components, and cyberspace entities, and participate in strategic planning efforts within USSOCOM and other DoD, IA, and non-government organizations. Key activities include developing, analyzing, documenting, vetting, and presenting Courses of Action (COAs), drafting and coordinating strategies and plans for various influence operations, and providing recommendations for SOCCENT's objectives and strategies. The role requires utilizing knowledge of joint doctrine, joint planning concepts (JOPP, APEX), operational art, operational design, joint military operations, command and control (C2) processes, and the military decision-making process. The SME will translate technical content into high-level briefs and documentation, draft various operational plans and products, monitor and recommend actions based on higher echelon directives, and create/maintain databases for operations, TTPs, best practices, and lessons learned. Additionally, the role involves reviewing intelligence product requirements supporting SOF cyberspace operations and developing an electronic resource for mission continuity. Travel CONUS/OCONUS may be required.
