About The Position

The main role of the Information Developer is to develop, maintain and distribute NAV CANADA’s operational communications and publications used nationwide. They will produce Air Traffic Services operational manuals and other publications—in consultation with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Graduation with a three (3) year undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in information development indicating expertise in the field of technical communication.
  • Experience using document management systems such as SharePoint Online.
  • Experience using a Component Content Management System (CCMS).
  • Experience authoring in XML with an understanding of cascading style sheets (CSS).
  • Experience editing HTML mark-up.
  • Knowledge on creating and delivering high quality, on-time technical documentation.
  • Knowledge on creating and maintaining MS Word styles and templates.
  • Knowledge on Information development methodologies and standards.
  • Knowledge on Structured writing for re-use.
  • Knowledge on the Fundamentals of Project management.
  • Strong research skills including gathering and organizing information from multiple sources.
  • Convert complex technical information into plain language.
  • Recognize information patterns and organize ideas.
  • Communicates complex information clearly in plain language, with a strong focus on user needs and service excellence.
  • Analyzes complex information, exercises sound judgment, and delivers accurate, high‑quality work aligned with standards and requirements.
  • Establishes rapport and maintains effective working relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and subject‑matter experts.
  • Demonstrates initiative, curiosity, reliability, tact, and decisiveness in problem‑solving and day‑to‑day work.
  • A motivated self‑starter with a positive attitude who manages multiple priorities effectively and adapts to changing demands.
  • The successful candidate must meet the security requirement of the position and be legally able to work in Canada.

Responsibilities
