About The Position

Responsible for addressing the information needs of patient families, physicians and staff while creating an atmosphere of care, concern, warmth and compassion. Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly waiting area.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Two years’ customer service or receptionist experience in a medical facility preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills; able to speak effectively to internal and external customers as required.
  • English language required.
  • Position requires attendance as early as 5:30 am daily.
  • Professional, customer focused, mutli-tasker, calm, pleasant demeanor.

Responsibilities

  • Direct patient visitors as directed by the physician and nursing staff.( i.e. apply physician preferences)
  • Coordinate patient family flow to facilitate surgeon/family consultations.
  • Promote patient confidentiality and compliance with privacy practices during front desk operations.
  • Processes phone calls in efficient manner.
  • Communicates with patients and family in a professional and courteous manner. Keeps families informed of patient status as needed. Compassionate, caring communications.
  • Assists others with various tasks when needed. Comply with facility Standards of Behavior and complete all required education assignments within the designated timeline. Anticipates visitor/family’s needs. Coordinates work station coverage. Assists in maintaining lobby area clean, well-organized and neat as needed. Monitors content on televisions and addresses as necessary. Suggests changes in procedures as necessary to improve service Regularly attends unit meetings.
