About The Position

Provides information, advice, and guidance about events and services of AS and the Student Center. Attends to the questions of all guests, striving to provide answers to any SF State-related questions, city questions, transit questions, and any other inquiries patrons of SF State may have. Also offers a location for room reservations, key check-in, lost and found, and a friendly place to help plan your day.

Requirements

  • Must be a currently enrolled SFSU student with a minimum of 6 units for undergraduates or 4 units for graduates.
  • Familiar with campus and campus related experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a professional attitude while working under stressful situations.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.
  • Willingness to learn on the job about customer service requirements and Associated Students policies, departments, and organizations.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Must be punctual and responsible.
  • Must be able to think and act quickly in a variety of situations.
  • Able to lift 10-15 lbs, when needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guests with exceptional customer service in an efficient and polite manner.
  • Provide various desk services such as lost and found, phone services and answer questions.
  • Check out keys and provide support to student organizations.
  • Approve banners and flyers to be affixed on the Mezzanine level.
  • Greet and welcome future students, families, and visitors; assisting with directions.
  • Maintain Student Center bulletin boards per our existing policies.
  • Act as a liaison between students, full-time workers, and other AS programs in regard to CCSC.
