About The Position

Software Finder is looking for a motivated Information Architecture Intern to support our UX, Product and Engineering teams in shaping how information is structured and communicated across our digital products. This is a hands-on learning opportunity for someone who enjoys simplifying complex ideas, organizing content, and writing user-focused copy. The intern will work closely with senior team members to learn information architecture, UX writing, and technical documentation practices while contributing to real product work.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, Design, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Some exposure to UX writing, content strategy, technical documentation, or information architecture (coursework, personal projects, or prior internships welcome).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with close attention to detail.
  • Genuine interest in UX principles, content design and how structure affects user experience.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment and take feedback constructively.
  • Eagerness to learn content modeling, taxonomy design and governance practices on the job.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with design/collaboration tools such as Figma or FigJam is a plus.
  • Basic familiarity with documentation tools such as MS Office, Docusaurus or GitHub is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing and maintaining information architecture elements such as site maps, taxonomies, navigation structures and content hierarchies, under guidance from senior team members.
  • Collaborate with UX, Product and Engineering teams to help translate business and user requirements into clear, structured content.
  • Support the creation of product copy including UI labels, microcopy, onboarding flows, tooltips and error messages.
  • Help maintain voice, tone and terminology consistency across the product ecosystem, following established content governance standards.
  • Contribute to documentation efforts including user guides, release notes, feature docs and help center articles.
  • Help simplify technical concepts into content that's easy to understand for both internal and external audiences.
  • Participate in content audits to identify gaps, inconsistencies or opportunities to improve clarity and usability.
  • Support user research, usability inspections and usability testing sessions as needed.
  • Assist in drafting and refining UX copy for interfaces (labels, buttons, error messages, onboarding, empty states).
