About The Position

Join Our Team as an Informatics Specialist Are you passionate about improving healthcare through smart technology and collaborative problem-solving? We're looking for a dynamic Informatics Specialist to help optimize clinical workflows, enhance electronic health record (EHR) functionality, and empower teams through impactful training and data-driven solutions. What You’ll Do As an Informatics Specialist, you’ll be the bridge between clinical teams and technical experts—translating needs, identifying opportunities, and driving improvements that matter. You’ll: Partner with clinical departments to streamline workflows and maximize EHR efficiency Act as a liaison between end users, application analysts, and report writers to ensure data accuracy and usability Identify areas for system optimization, compliance, and outcome improvement using technology Stay current on clinical decision support tools and help align EHR capabilities with strategic goals Training & Empowerment You’ll also play a key role in education and change management: Master Epic and related applications to deliver engaging, effective training sessions Prepare classrooms, facilitate learning, and follow up with users to ensure understanding and adoption Support Epic upgrades, workflow changes, and system enhancements through testing, communication, and hands-on training Provide credentialed training for new hires, optimization efforts, and system updates—whether one-on-one or “train the trainer” style Collaboration & Innovation You’ll work closely with business offices, clinical providers, and project teams to: Design and refine applications that meet evolving departmental needs Recommend enhancements and resolve issues alongside Epic project teams and reporting analysts Identify value stream processes and engage stakeholders to improve data outcomes Ensure patient safety, confidentiality, and operational excellence through thoughtful system design

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Clinical practice or hospital/clinic experience preferred
  • Prior involvement in committees or project-based work
  • Familiarity with clinical systems and workflows across specialties
  • Strong computer skills and healthcare support knowledge (billing, scheduling, access services, HIM)
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies like Kata is a plus
  • Epic Credentialed Trainer certification preferred
  • Must complete Epic training and certification within 3 months of program completion if not already credentialed
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills—you listen, engage, and follow through
  • Proficiency in Epic navigation and problem-solving
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to match technology to user needs
  • Experience with flowcharting tools and business process mapping
  • Adaptability to shifting priorities, technologies, and procedures
  • Ability to lead training sessions, manage plans, and resolve conflicts
  • Self-directed, detail-oriented, and organized under pressure
  • A true team player who builds trust and drives change
