About The Position

Informatics Pharmacist Specialist works in the build, implementation, and maintenance of automation and technology to optimize pharmacy practice, pharmacy systems, and the medication‐use process. Specializes in the medication process, from ordering to administration, and is responsible for effective process design, development, and implementation of the Electronic Medical Record and Clinical Decision Support. Supports the pharmacy team as the resource for requests related to EMR and pharmacy system changes and additions. Provides EMR‐related staff education/training and assist with precepting of pharmacy residents.

Requirements

  • Current state Registered Pharmacist License required.
  • B.S. in Pharmacy or PharmD degree required.
  • At least two years of hospital pharmacy experience required (exceptional aptitude or knowledge may be considered in lieu of experience).
  • At least two years of pharmacy informatics, pharmacy automation, pharmacy computer system applications, and/or information technology experience required.
  • Knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations (i.e., order entry/verification, dispensing, IV compounding, and clinical pharmacy services, etc.) and understanding of general hospital operations required.
  • EMR pharmacy application build experience required (i.e., Epic and/or Meditech).
  • If not already certified, must achieve Epic certification for supported modules within 6 months of hire.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as data analysis skills required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently required.

Nice To Haves

  • Epic Willow and Beacon certifications preferred.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and ability to lead an implementation project preferred.
  • Experience as a pharmacy residency preceptor in pharmacy informatics preferred.

  • A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $120,640.00 to $174,720 on an annualized basis.
  • The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
