Informatics Director
About The Position
Helio Health, Inc. promotes recovery from substance use and mental health disorders and other health issues. The Informatics Director provides leadership and management for the Informatics Operational Support Area, supporting the organization’s clinical applications and data analytics initiatives. The position works on-site in Syracuse, New York. The Informatics Director reports directly to the Vice President of Digital Strategy and takes direction from the President & CEO, Chief Information Officer, Executive Vice President & COO, and other Chief Officers as appropriate. The role collaborates with the Digital Experience and Design Director on system updates and EHR workflows; works with regional and service leaders and program staff to address data and clinical application needs; and supports analytics needs for Continuous Quality Improvement, Compliance, Finance/RCM, Marketing, and Growth/Grant Writing. The director supervises Informatics Specialists and oversees organizational data analysis and Health Information Technology activities. The position may temporarily assume the Vice President of Digital Strategy’s duties when required due to leave, travel, emergencies, or similar circumstances, and rotates on-call as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Health Information Management, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in Health Information Technology and/or Data Analytics.
- Mastery of data analytics processes, tools, and data-quality dependencies, including clinical workflows, HIT, IT, infrastructure, and security.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
- Mastery of Microsoft 365.
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of management, clinical and support staff, and external partners and vendors.
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities
- Provide leadership for the Electronic Health Record (EHR), other clinical applications, and data analytics initiatives.
- Supervise Informatics Specialists and Data Analysts across the organization.
- Lead data analytics activities to gather and analyze data for regulatory and program needs, including GARF, CCBHC, and internal reporting.
- Develop new EHR forms and reporting capabilities.
- Oversee validation of EHR reports and scripts to ensure results are accurate and clear.
- Collaborate on data literacy initiatives for staff at all levels.
- Collaborate on training initiatives for the EHR and business intelligence tools.
- Mentor and develop analytics and specialist skillsets, supporting upskilling across the agency.
- Collaborate with vendors and IT to monitor system performance, coordinate updates, and resolve technical issues.
- Participate in and/or lead initiatives and special projects as assigned.
- Keep the supervisor informed of significant problems that jeopardize achievement of objectives.
- Rotate on-call as needed.
- Temporarily assume the Vice President of Digital Strategy’s duties when required due to leave, travel, emergencies, or similar circumstances.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
