The Division of Digestive Disease seeks a fellowship-trained, board-certified or board-eligible gastroenterologist specializing in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). The physician will support growth of the IBD program, expand access to specialized care, strengthen multidisciplinary clinical services, and contribute to the Division’s academic, research, and educational missions. The role provides comprehensive care for patients with Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, indeterminate colitis, and other complex immune-mediated gastrointestinal disorders. The physician will join a collaborative multidisciplinary team delivering innovative, evidence-based care while supporting education, research, and program development. Practice locations include ambulatory clinics and affiliated teaching hospitals throughout the Tampa Bay region. A typical schedule may include outpatient IBD-focused clinics, endoscopy procedures, inpatient consult responsibilities, multidisciplinary conferences and care-planning meetings, and protected time for research, scholarly activities, teaching, and program development. Scheduling may be tailored to faculty interests, research involvement, and divisional needs. Protected administrative, research, or education time may be tied to specific leadership responsibilities and may be removed, with an increase in clinical patient-care assignments, if those roles end. The position includes teaching, research, service, related administrative activities, academic advising, and representing the university, college or school, or department as needed. The physician is responsible to a Chair or another appropriate higher-level administrator of a state university.
