About The Position

We are looking for a Nurse who will work closely with the attendance management team. The incumbent will be responsible for assessing an employee's physical and mental health status, providing the required nursing care and medical treatments to maintain health, restore it, and prevent illness in an industrial environment. This role is part of the site's first responder team to provide first aid in case of emergencies. This is an excellent opportunity for a rigorous, autonomous, and committed professional to leverage their clinical expertise and ensure safe and compliant occupational health care. It involves carrying out professional activities reserved for the nursing scope of practice, in accordance with the requirements of applicable laws, codes, and regulations, as well as Rio Tinto's occupational health standards. This is a full-time position with day/evening/night shift work, with the possibility of a 48-hour block schedule. The position requires relocation to Havre-Saint-Pierre (no FIFO option), and relocation support will be offered. Havre-Saint-Pierre is distinguished by its lifestyle between sea and nature. Requirements

  • Commitment to your safety and that of your team.
  • Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in Nursing or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Hold a valid and current license to practice nursing issued by the Ordre des Infirmières et Infirmiers du Québec (OIIQ).
  • Demonstrate integrity and professionalism required for work involving the processing of sensitive, personal, and confidential data.
  • Show good self-control, autonomy, and adaptability to different situations.
  • Reside in Canada with the right to work there. We do not offer international relocation or work permits for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in occupational health.
  • Work experience or diploma in nursing in a remote region.
  • Relevant university degree and/or related to occupational health.
  • Proficiency in the Office suite and comfort with computer tools.
  • Up-to-date CPR certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care, medical treatments, and emergency interventions according to current protocols, methods, and guidelines.
  • Perform medical examinations (hiring, periodic, retirement) related to the health program (audiometry, spirometry, etc.).
  • Document industrial incidents and ensure follow-up of files (first aid, consultations, return to work).
  • Ensure the confidentiality, management, and compliance of medical records.
  • Support the implementation and adherence to Rio Tinto health standards.
  • Ensure the availability, maintenance, and proper functioning of medical materials and equipment.
  • Participate in emergency interventions and coordinate evacuations with first responder teams.
  • Promote occupational health by supporting operations, developing initiatives, and training on best practices.
