About The Position

As our Infectious Disease Physician, you will join our dynamic healthcare team in Omaha, specializing in diagnosing and treating patients, making a significant impact on their lives and families. Every day you will provide compassionate and expert care, conducting thorough assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support the holistic well-being of children and their families. To be successful in this role, you will be a skilled, board-certified, and compassionate ID Physician, possessing expertise in diagnosing and managing complex patients, alongside strong communication abilities. You will also demonstrate a deep commitment to patient-centered care and the capacity to thrive within a collegial and supportive environment. Full spectrum of adult infectious disease. Position includes one half-day of outpatient clinic/week, inpatient rounding on teaching and nonteaching services. Diverse interests in our well-respected ID group (15 ID physicians and 9 advanced practice providers): HIV, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, sexually transmissible infections, antimicrobial stewardship, infection prevention, orthopedic ID, public health advocacy, and medical education. Call 1:5. Educational environment includes weekly ID citywide clinical case conferences and fellow educational sessions. Twice-weekly microbiology rounds and quarterly journal club in addition to weekly internal medicine grand rounds complete the educational environment. The educational program continues to evolve with input from the fellows to optimize educational opportunities. Academic service rounding team includes an ID fellow, internal medicine residents, medical students, and a clinical pharmacist. Non-academic services include an ID-trained APP. Academic appointment with Creighton University School of Medicine, rank commensurate with level of experience. Teaching and mentorship of medical students, residents, and ID fellows. Active clinical research program with ample opportunities through CommonSpirit Health and Creighton University.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
  • Active or eligible license in the state of Nebraska
  • Strong clinical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with families, and healthcare professionals
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients and families
  • Board-certified and compassionate ID Physician
  • Expertise in diagnosing and managing complex patients
