About The Position

The Infection Preventionist is responsible for the facility infection prevention and control program (IPCP), which is designed to provide a safe, sanitary, and comfortable environment and help prevent the development and transmission of communicable diseases and infections. The position is on the Skilled Nursing team at The Terraces of Phoenix, a HumanGood Life Plan Community.

This is a full-time role, Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with weekend availability required. The annual salary range is $90,000–$105,000, depending on experience (DOE).

Requirements

• Meet current national training requirements for Infection Prevention and Control, or have completed the training requirements.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• PointClickCare (PCC) software experience.
• At least 6 months of current or recent experience in Skilled Nursing.
• Current CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

• Current or prior nursing experience in post-acute, sub-acute, or senior care.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Facility Leadership and the Medical Director to develop, implement, and evaluate annual infection prevention goals and action.
• Foster effective working relationships and build consensus.
• Partner with facility leaders, physicians, and local, state, and national agencies on infection prevention activities.
• Conduct outbreak investigations.
• Plan, organize, develop, coordinate, and direct the infection prevention and control program and its activities in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
