About The Position

This is a combined posting for an Infection Preventionist and Senior Infection Preventionist. The requirements of each role are listed below under each associated title. An IP Specialist is expected to work autonomously and should not require mentorship in their role. All Infection Preventionists (IPs) are accountable for implementation of and compliance with policies, practices, and processes of the infection prevention program at the facility, region, division and system level. In collaboration with the IP leadership, IP medical director, and IP peers, all IPs will follow all current local, state, and federal guidelines, standards, and regulations. Infection Preventionists provide infection prevention consultative services focused on providing the highest quality care at the lowest cost to patient and organization. The Infection Prevention Expert is considered to have expertise in Infection Prevention Expert. An IP Expert is expected to work autonomously and to serve as a mentor to other infection preventionists. All Infection Preventionists (IPs) are accountable for implementation of and compliance with policies, practices, and processes of the infection prevention program at the facility, region, division and system level. In collaboration with the IP leadership, IP medical director, and IP peers, all IP peers, all IP will follow all current local, state and federal guidelines, standards and regulations. Infection Preventionists provide infection prevention consultative services focused on providing the highest quality care at the lowest cost to patient and organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Lab Sciences, Microbiology or related health science field.
  • National Certified in Infection Control - Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology within 1 year of hire (for Infection Preventionist)
  • National Certified in Infection Control - Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology upon hire (for Senior Infection Preventionist)
  • 2 years of Healthcare experience; 4 years preferred (for Infection Preventionist)
  • 2 years of Epidemiology or Infection Prevention experience; 4 years preferred (for Infection Preventionist)
  • 5 years of Healthcare experience (for Senior Infection Preventionist)
  • 5 years of Epidemiology or Infection Prevention experience (for Senior Infection Preventionist)

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Lab Sciences, Microbiology or related health science field (for Infection Preventionist)
  • Master's Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Lab Sciences, Microbiology, or related health sciences field (for Senior Infection Preventionist)
  • Fellow of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (FAPIC) within 2 years of hire (for Senior Infection Preventionist)
  • Advanced Leadership Certification in IPC (AL-CIP) within 2 years of hire (for Senior Infection Preventionist)
  • 10 or more years of Healthcare experience (for Senior Infection Preventionist)
  • 10 or more years of Epidemiology or Infection Prevention experience (for Senior Infection Preventionist)

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for implementation of and compliance with policies, practices, and processes of the infection prevention program at the facility, region, division and system level.
  • In collaboration with the IP leadership, IP medical director, and IP peers, follow all current local, state, and federal guidelines, standards, and regulations.
  • Provide infection prevention consultative services focused on providing the highest quality care at the lowest cost to patient and organization.
  • Serve as a mentor to other infection preventionists (for Senior role).
