Under the general supervision of Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) leadership, the IP2 position is the second step in the four-level career ladder from Novice to Expert. IP2 is for individuals with some infection prevention or related healthcare experience, but without the knowledge or skills in all infection prevention content areas to function independently. This position will specifically support Infection Prevention of the Ambulatory Care practices of BILH, which includes specifically all non-hospital based BILH ambulatory clinics and infusion centers. As a part of the Ambulatory Infection Prevention team, this position will help develop educational and guidance resources for Ambulatory Care settings. Key components of this position are the following: · Travel to the different BILH Ambulatory care clinic locations (approximately 40% of the time) to assess and provide guidance on Infection Prevention standards · Assist in the system-wide level IP strategy under the Manager of Infection Prevention-Ambulatory through IP project development and clinic (not inpatient) rounding. · Represent Ambulatory Infection Prevention at BILH to help develop control measures, campaigns, and interventions related to healthcare-associated infections (e.g., Hand Hygiene) · Review themes and data to support recommendations for system-wide change with the Ambulatory Infection Prevention team · Consistent monitoring of infectious disease surveillance in the Ambulatory setting, including surveillance for specific infectious disease results and the coordination of follow-up exposure investigations (e.g. Chickenpox, Pertussis, Tuberculosis, Mumps) · Understand and utilize regulatory requirements as it pertains to Infection Prevention standards in Ambulatory Care settings
