About The Position

Oversees infection prevention operations across healthcare facilities, including acute care and critical access hospitals, as well as consultative services for ambulatory care centers and physician offices. Ensures consistent implementation of evidence-based infection control practices, regulatory compliance, and surveillance systems across various care settings. Provides strategic guidance to facility-level Infection Preventionists, supports the development and standardization of policies and procedures, and fosters a culture of safety and quality. Coordinates regional initiatives, delivers consultative services to outpatient and ambulatory teams, and serves as a subject matter expert in communicable disease management, regulatory standards (OSHA, IOSHA, ISDH, CDC), and epidemiology. Partners closely with system-level infection prevention leadership and actively participates in shared governance committees to align regional efforts with enterprise-wide goals and drive continuous improvement in infection prevention outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • Requires 5-7 years of relevant experience.
  • Requires Certification in Infection Prevention.
  • Completion of mentorship and leadership courses are required within the first year of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree is preferred.
  • 3 plus years in infection prevention is preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is preferred.
  • Previous leadership experience is strongly preferred.
