About The Position

Build your career as an Infection Control Specialist and play a critical role in protecting the health and safety of patients, employees, and visitors. You will drive infection prevention initiatives through surveillance, data analysis, and strategic interventions that support high-quality patient care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Public Health, Microbiology, or related healthcare field preferred.
  • Previous experience in infection prevention, quality, epidemiology, public health, or acute care preferred.
  • Current clinical licensure (such as RN, MLS, or related healthcare license) preferred, based on role requirements.
  • Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) preferred or required within designated timeframe.
  • Experience with infection surveillance, data analysis, and regulatory compliance preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts ongoing surveillance to identify, track, and reduce healthcare-associated infections across care settings.
  • Collects, analyzes, and reports infection control data to identify trends, outbreaks, and opportunities for quality improvement.
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates infection prevention strategies, policies, and interventions to minimize infection risks.
  • Monitors compliance with infection prevention standards, isolation protocols, aseptic practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborates with physicians, clinical teams, leadership, and regulatory agencies to support infection prevention initiatives and outbreak management.
  • Serves as an infection control resource by providing education, consultation, and training to employees and clinical staff on best practices and current standards.
  • Supports employee health and safety programs related to infectious disease prevention, exposure response, and immunization initiatives.
  • Maintains current knowledge of infection prevention regulations, evidence-based guidelines, and industry best practices.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
