About The Position

Fairmount Homes is seeking a detail-oriented, collaborative, and passionate Infection Control Coordinator to join their mission-driven team. This role is crucial in protecting the health and well-being of residents and team members by leading and coordinating the community's infection prevention and control program. The position is part-time, 32 hours per week, with day shift hours and occasional on-call responsibilities. Fairmount Homes is a faith-based community founded on Christ's love and Mennonite values, located on a 70+ acre campus in Ephrata, PA.

Requirements

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
Minimum of two (2) years of long-term care nursing experience
Current CPR certification
Strong understanding of infection prevention practices and regulatory requirements
Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and drive improvement
Clear communication skills and ability to educate and support others
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
A genuine desire to serve older adults and contribute to a mission-driven community

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate the community’s infection prevention and control program
Monitor infection trends, analyze data, and guide quality improvement efforts
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local infection control regulations
Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and reporting systems related to infection prevention
Educate and support staff across departments on best practices for infection control
Investigate and document employee exposures or incidents and recommend preventative actions
Support employee health programs such as vaccinations, TB testing, and fit testing
Collaborate with leadership and participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
