About The Position

The Infection Control Preventionist is trained in hospital epidemiology principles and is responsible for the surveillance, analysis, interpretation and reporting of hospital acquired infections (HAI); educating employees about infection control prevention; and the development of health system policies and procedures to insure rigorous infection control standards that meet TJC, OSHA, CMS, CDC/NHSN, California statutes and other nationally organized recommendations and requirements. This position requires completion of an Infection Control Program training and CIC. This position is required to be on-call.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing, B.S. Medical Technology, B.S. Biology or Biological Sciences, B.S. Healthcare Administration or Coordination, Master's in Public Health, or Doctor of Medicine
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in Infection Control
  • Knowledge of NHSN reporting
  • Current Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) within 3 years of hire/transfer
  • Computer literacy
  • Proficiency in use of electronic health records and infection control databases
  • Competent in Microsoft Office
