About The Position

Evaluates quality of patient care and patient outcomes as they relate to healthcare-associated infections. Collects, prepares, and analyzes healthcare associated infection data, presents the data, and provides recommendations for actions. Monitors compliance in use of barriers and infection prevention measures. Prepares and presents educational offerings for staff and serves as a resource for staff. Collaborates and assists with the hospital’s employee health program. Plans and collects data for continuous QI and monitoring/reporting communicable diseases to the state as required by law and regulatory standards. Applicants will be screened and selected on ability to provide a safe and sanitary environment as well as prevention of the development and transmission of disease and infection. Performs related duties as required. Mandatory overtime is an essential function of this position. This is a tobacco free campus. Applicants selected for employment must successfully complete a chemical urinalysis and breath analysis drug screening test. All employees shall be subject to drug testing for probable cause as set forth in bureau and agency policies. Applicant must successfully complete background check. This position is eligible for an appointment incentive of $12,500.00 to the selected applicant who agrees to work for the facility for a minimum period of twelve (12) months.

Requirements

  • Current West Virginia license to practice as a registered nurse.
  • Three (3) years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience as a Registered Nurse (Internal Applicants Only).
  • Ability to provide a safe and sanitary environment.
  • Ability to prevent the development and transmission of disease and infection.
  • Successfully complete a chemical urinalysis and breath analysis drug screening test.
  • Successfully complete background check.
