About The Position

The primary purpose of the Certified Infection Preventionist is to plan, organize, develop, coordinate and direct our infection prevention and control program and its activities in accordance with the current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern such programs, and as may be directed by the Administrator and the Infection Prevention and Control Committee to ensure that an effective infection prevention and control program is maintained at all times.

Requirements

Must possess, as a minimum, a nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing.
Must possess, a current, unencunbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in this state.
Must have, as a minimum, two (2) years clinical experience in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related healthcare facility.
Must possess a working knowledge of epidemiology, microbiology, infectious diseases, and aseptic technique to include standard/transmission-based precautions.

Nice To Haves

APIC Certification in infection prevention and control preferred, but not necessary.
