Infant Toddler Lead Teacher
About The Position

The Infant Toddler Lead Teacher will lead the educational care and development of a specific classroom, implementing all components of the Quality Preschool Initiative as defined in the Program requirements. This role involves supervising Instructional Assistants (IA’s) and performing tasks required to support high-quality learning for all students, parents, and extended families. The teacher will collaborate with children, staff, and families to assure high-quality early childhood education.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in ECE/ Child Development or higher level degree
- 24 ECE units + ability to attain Child Development Teacher's Permit or higher level permit
- Ability to work at various locations, as needed
- Ability to walk, sit, and stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds to support children
- Ability to bend and squat to interact with children
Responsibilities
- Lead the educational care and development of a specific classroom by implementing all components of the Quality Preschool Initiative as defined in the Program requirements
- Supervise all Instructional Assistants (IA’s)
- Perform tasks required to support High Quality learning for all students, parents & extended families
- Collaborate with children, staff & families to assure High Quality early childhood education
- Responsible for planning & implementing a rich curriculum which incorporates the Creative Curriculum, and PITC Curriculum
- Use the CLASS tool to guide intentional teaching and meaningful engagement
- Create and maintain the specific interest centers including Science, Math, Literacy & Language, Dramatic Play, Block Play, Sensory Play, Mindful Me & Soft Places for relaxing using ITERS guidelines
- Insure daily Classroom cleanliness that meets with all Health & Safety Guidelines as defined within ITERS & the External Health & Safety review
