This role involves leading the educational care and development of a specific classroom by implementing all components of the Quality Preschool Initiative as defined in the Program requirements. It also includes supervising Instructional Assistants and performing tasks to support High Quality learning for all students, parents & extended families, and collaborating with children, staff & families to assure High Quality early childhood education.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in ECE/ Child Development or higher level degree
24 ECE units +ability to attain Child Development Teacher's Permit or higher level permit
Ability to work at various locations, as needed
Ability to walk, sit, and stand for extended periods of time
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds to support children
Ability to bend and squat to interact with children

Responsibilities

Lead the educational care and development of a specific classroom by implementing all components of the Quality Preschool Initiative as defined in the Program requirements
Supervise all Instructional Assistants (IA’s)
Perform tasks required to support High Quality learning for all students, parents & extended families
Collaborate with children, staff & families to assure High Quality early childhood education
Plan & implement a rich curriculum which incorporates the Creative Curriculum, and PITC Curriculum
Use the CLASS tool to guide intentional teaching and meaningful engagement
Create and maintain the specific interest centers including Science, Math, Literacy & Language, Dramatic Play, Block Play, Sensory Play, Mindful Me & Soft Places for relaxing using ITERS guidelines
Insure daily Classroom cleanliness that meets with all Health & Safety Guidelines as defined within ITERS & the External Health & Safety review
