About The Position

The Infant Nutrition Technician is responsible for preparing, delivering, and properly storing human milk and infant formula. The role requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, the ability to work with minimal supervision, and appropriate action in a stressful environment. The position is per diem and scheduled for day shifts at JDCH in Hollywood, Florida.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of food service or healthcare experience.
• Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Responsibilities

• Accurately calculate human milk and formula additives based on orders and mix them appropriately.
• Use the computerized inventory system and escalate issues to leadership.
• Follow food safety guidelines in the milk room and maintain preparation supplies.
• Monitor the temperature and function of each milk-room freezer and refrigerator and report concerns to leadership.
• Monitor inventory of patient-specific milk deposits.
• Collect breast milk and ensure proper labeling and storage.
• Review infant feeding orders and clarify them with the patient care team.
